....sleeping dreams...

Pay attention to your dreams -
God's angels often speak directly to our hearts when we are asleep.

Quoted in The Angels' Little Instruction Book by Eileen Elias Freeman

i dream most every night

i have conversations with the people in my dreams but sometimes i am silent

i dream in colour but when it is very emotionally charged it seems to be in black and white

i dream of those i love and of those i've lost and of those who sometimes come to visit and surprise me

i dream in raw and naked emotion and i can feel things so very deeply

i don't always understand why i've dreamed what i have

this morning i was left feeling emotionally drained and bereft and i couldn't make sense of what i'd been dreaming

and then it came to me that maybe god had been sending me a message.

and then i found the above quote and i felt content

  1. Beautiful post Sherry. I got chills reading that quote! I love it. And this post is so timely for me. Last nite I had a dream and I don't recall much but I know that I saw my first husband who died many years ago. I don't dream of him often but when I do I always know that it is a visit. I wish I remembered what it was about! because I know there is sometimes a message in there!

I used to keep a notepad in my nightstand so that I could write some things down as soon as I woke up because I knew that come morning i wouldn't recall anything. I should start doing that again.

    PS . . . Is this image a new digital collage? :)

  2. I love your "visit" dream Cathy -- I get those from time to time as well...just that warm hug from someone who is no longer with me. xo

As for the image -- it's a piece out of one of my art journal pages and I spiced it up a bit digitally!

  5. Sometimes dreams don't even feel like dreams, do they? Sometimes I wake exhausted from all I seem to do in the dream state. This is a fascinating subject thoug, I wish I knew more!

  6. Such a lovely post. Thank you for sharing with us. A perfect text...

I very rarely remember my dreams but once, when I was feeling a long way from God I dreamt that Jesus was at the centre of a huge maze and I was standing outside the maze not being able to find a way in..I was very upset by this and told my prayer partner about it. She laughed and said 'all you have to do is ask Jesus to come and find YOU!' So I did....

  7. What a beautiful post!

You know....I keep having the same dream once in a while...I am standing on top of a mailbox and Michael Jackson is trying to bite me. It's beyond me what that means. *shrug*

    LOVE your background!

  8. Thank you, Dear Sherry for writing about this! I think dreams are a very important part of creativity because I realize now that I solve problems in my dreams! I wake up with the "Ah-HA!" in my head. And sometimes, the dream made sense at the time, but not when I wake up. And sometimes, it is my first chance to make my husband laugh for the day, like the time I told him about the dream I had about a game-show called "Who Kissed Jefferson?".

(Any questions why LuLu and I are friends??? She needs to bring her biting Michael Jackson to the gameshow as a guest host!).

Wishing you a beautiful day, Nice Lady!

  9. I too dream almost every night.

Most of the time, the dreams can be pretty confusing or thought provoking. I love the thought of angels and dreams. It maes the whole idea of dreaming more comforting.
