I've been "feeling" spring lately and when I saw this wrap/scarf in The Bay the other day, I knew I needed to have this!
Whether or not it matches what I'm wearing, I've been wrapping this around my neck for the last few days. It makes my face happy!
I've been poking around in the garden as well. There are still some dead hydrangea blooms on the bush in the back garden and they look so nice even in this state. But it is time to cut them off and trim this bush -- it grows like wild fire.
There are masses of cinq foil blooming in the back and I've seen one or two coming up in the front garden as well...they always come up early so seeing them now is no surprise.
The forsythia are a bit early but there are plenty of buds on the tree and many of them are ready to open. I have to say that I'm not really overly fond of forsythia. I'm not partial to all that yellow (which is why I've toned this photograph down so that it is less yellow) and our neighbourhood has many, many, many forsythia bushes. In fact, there is even a street called Forsythia in the neighbourhood.
What is so very early is the lilac tree. There have been buds on this tree for a few weeks, because of the incredibly warm and unseasonal weather we had a few weeks ago. I noticed that some of the buds are getting ready to break open and I can see the tiny flowers to be. One thing I am grateful for this spring is being able to see the lilacs in these stages. Usually I notice the buds and the next thing I know the tree is in flower. Little blessings along the way.
There is such an awakening and a sense of "I can do anything" that always greets me in the spring. The feeling that anything is possible...perhaps even a little magic.

Beautiful colours, flowers in bloom, the (sometimes...) fresh scents of spring – it all seems like magic. Every year.
ReplyDeleteAnd Sherry with her “happy face” – wonderful. :)
Bonjour Sherry,
ReplyDeleteSO glad you stopped by to visit, now I've found your beautiful blog too.
I agree on the scarf, such great colors, a bit like an Impressionist painting.

ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty post!
I hope you get some magic this Easter lovely one. Lilac my favourite, the heady scent is gorgeous. See you after scoffing an Easter egg mountain! xxx
ReplyDeleteYour spring treats are beautiful, Sherry-Girl! That scarf is divine. We are about at the same place as far as buds and leaves go, maybe a little more. I have been more on beach mode since I got back from Cape Cod but this weekend, with us bringing Katie her first bike and lots of time spent outdoors in La Conception, I am sure the Spring will fill me up.
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your menfolk have a sweet Easter weekend.
Love and hugs to you.
Beautiful photo's Sherry. So dreamy! I love, love, love them.
