I saw it yesterday. The sun. That ball of fire in the sky, that elusive burst of brightness. I'd been out meeting a friend for coffee and running errands and when I got home I took my new phone out of my purse and snapped a few photos...just to prove to myself that the sun still lives up in that sky!
It looks warm and inviting. It looks bright and shiny. I stood in it's beaming rays for some time. Just soaking it up.
And as I got ready to put my key in the lock, I loved seeing the shadow play on the door. Proof that I wasn't dreaming.
I don't need much to make me feel the joy. A little burst of sunshine every day goes a long way to making my heart tell my head..."this one, this day is going to be just fine."

DeleteI am with Honey, YOU are a burst of sunshine Sherry...xo
ReplyDelete((((muah))))!
DeletePlease send some of those rays this way. The weather here is so dark and dreary. I am trying my best to ignore it but it is difficult, freezing fog this morning aargh. I do hope that your day IS just fine. I think we need a lightbox as big as a house! xxx
ReplyDeletePS Husband in bed with a man cold - just the cherry on the cake HA! Then I thought I had broken the washing machine, but had turned it on to pre- wash!! lord I need a new brain. Mind you a bus has just gone down our lane with a huge picture of Gerard Butler on (advert for new film) it could be worse. Well it cheered me up!
oh I wish I could bundle that up and send it over the ocean!!!
DeleteAs always you make me laugh -- and brighten my spirits in many ways. Between a man cold and foggy brain...I think that huge picture of Gerard Butler was JUST what you needed for some added sunshine! xo
These are wonderful, Sherry!
ReplyDeleteAs each gray day goes by here, I am wondering if the sun will ever make an appearance again.
Just about 8 sunless days in a row now. :-(
Wishing you a wonderful day!
xo.
Oh it's so nice to see the sun! Lately here in Oxfordshire we've had no end of rain and fog. Vancouver isn't much better I hear. What we all need is a good solid week in Mexico/Florida/Canaries, (depending where you're starting from), to sit on the beach and count pelicans. :)
ReplyDeleteI feel cheated on cold windy days (today was soooo cold in southern California) and I don't get my dose of sunshine. When I taught language arts there was a story about life on another planet where the sun only came out one day a year. I can't imagine it.
